I enjoyed reading The Lowland because the story was very emotional. It moved slowly, pacing itself well, giving me time to get acquainted with each characters importance.

In allowing me to build a relationship with each, there were moments of frustration and annoyance. I, even at the end, can not understand Gauri’s decisions. But, I think that’s why this story is so important: because it shows people at their most vulnerable, it proves that we are human and that in life, things happen that we can not control. We end up making decisions that shape the rest of our lives — without knowing, in that moment, that it would.
