The way I felt while reading The Invention of Wings is what, I can only assume, the author intended. It made me angry, frustrated, annoyed, sad and happy. Told from two different perspectives (a slave and a privileged white girl), Monk gives us a 360 story view.
A definite emotional whirlwind, you will find yourself loving and hating the characters; wanting to immerse yourself in its world so you can physically do something; and then thanking Sue Monk Kidd for introducing you to such brave women.

Wow! When I told you I was reading a book, this is the book I’m reading. I’m about half-way through and I’m really loving this book. It’s hard to put down, once I pick it up.:)
